Summary

This study discusses considerations for the characteristics and direction of humanities education in secondary schools, as emphasized in the 2015 National Curriculum. It examines the characteristics of humanities through the contrast between academic and practical humanities, analyzes the problems of humanities education in Korean secondary schools, and seeks ways to improve it. Ultimately, it proposes emphasizing reflective contemplation on life and applying humanistic methods through humanities education.
