Summary

This study analyzed the factors considered by pre-service Korean language teachers when designing writing tasks and the gap between their intentions and the actual task design. The pre-service teachers considered the requirements of the writing outcome and the learners' performance, and there was a slight difference between the task design intention and the actual result. This is attributed to the lack of related knowledge and experience of the pre-service teachers, suggesting the need for further research on writing task design and education.
