Summary
This study investigates intergenerational relationships between middle-aged married couples and their mothers/mothers-in-law using an intergenerational ambivalence scale to classify and analyze different relationship types. The results showed that intimate and conflict relationships were more prevalent than ambivalent and estranged relationships, and the determining factors in the relationship were explained by differences in relationship attributes.
