Summary

This study explored the status of data literacy cultivation in social studies education through an analysis of data visualization content in 2015 high school social textbooks. The analysis revealed that the unsystematic distribution of data visualizations hinders students' data understanding. Future research is needed to emphasize data literacy in social studies research, teacher education, and instruction, as well as to improve the curriculum and textbooks.
