Summary

This study explores the changes in pre-service elementary teachers’ perceptions and perspectives of social studies lessons through a lesson study-based practice program. The results showed that pre-service teachers expanded their understanding of the components of social studies lessons, such as goals, content, methods, and evaluation, through lesson consultation and emphasized consideration and understanding of learners. This suggests that collaborative lesson study can contribute to enhancing the competence of pre-service elementary teachers in social studies education.
