Summary
This study analyzed the effect of college students’ perception and behavior toward the elderly on their preparation for old age, surveying 400 students in provincial areas. The results showed that students had a positive emotional perception but a somewhat negative behavioral perception of the elderly, which influenced their physical, economic, and social preparation for old age. Therefore, addressing negative perceptions of the elderly, presenting a positive image, and providing education and policy support for retirement preparation are necessary.
