Summary

This study analyzes the connections between reading materials and culture, and the cultural content in 5th and 6th grade English textbooks. The analysis revealed that 66% of the reading materials were connected to culture to varying degrees, with topics about daily life being the most common (78.1%). Material culture accounted for the largest proportion of cultural types (45.8%), and English culture was the most frequently presented cultural background.
