Summary

This study aimed to understand invention gifted students and prepare basic data for their selection by comparing the creative tendencies of elementary school invention gifted students and general students. The results showed that invention gifted students had higher creative tendencies than general students, particularly in curiosity, adventurousness, and problem-solving ability. There was no significant difference in creative tendencies between male and female invention gifted students, but the need to create an environment to expand the interest of female gifted students in the invention field was raised.
