Summary

This study aims to explore a non-invasive method for measuring difficulty by comparing the perceived difficulty and pupil response levels in computer-based problem-solving situations. Online tests were conducted with university students, and the collected pupil data was analyzed, revealing that the pupil amplitude-based index was sensitive to classifying high-difficulty items. This suggests that the learner's pupil response is useful in classifying items perceived as highly difficult.
