Summary

This study compared the conceptual structures of textbooks on solar and lunar eclipses with those of students in higher and lower groups using semantic networks to identify differences. The analysis revealed that the moon, sun, and earth were at the center of the network for both textbooks and groups, but differences were observed in the connections and eigenvector centrality related to shadows. Notably, the higher group showed higher eigenvector centrality for the location and arrangement of celestial bodies, and teachers can assist students' concept formation by considering these differences.
