Summary

This study aimed to investigate the current status and expectations of Korean language learners regarding machine translation to establish a methodology for machine translation-based Korean language education. Survey results indicated that learners frequently used machine translation for written language learning and as a dictionary, but their satisfaction with the results was not high. Nevertheless, learners expected that utilizing machine translation in education would have positive effects on writing, reading, vocabulary, and grammar learning.
