Summary

This study empirically analyzes the moderating effect of startup experience on opportunism in the relationship between franchisor and franchisee. Uncertainty and information asymmetry increase opportunism, while transaction-specific assets decrease it. Notably, startup experience was found to moderate the relationship between information asymmetry and opportunism.
