Summary

This study investigated the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the online sales of beauty products using an event study approach. The results showed that overall beauty product sales decreased due to COVID-19, but the extent of the decrease varied depending on product characteristics; dietary health foods and skin improvement products experienced a smaller decline. Furthermore, the decline in sales was more significant for experience products compared to credence products.
