Summary
This study investigates the community politics of the United States to find solutions for improving local autonomy in Korea. Community politics, as a form of participatory democracy, promotes citizen engagement and strengthens democracy. By comparing the active citizen participation in the US with the limited participation in Korea, the study highlights the need for a bottom-up, citizen-led transformation of local politics.
