Summary

This study investigated the effects of learning presence and learning engagement on learning outcomes (learning persistence and self-efficacy) in an online English learning community. The results showed that learning presence directly affects learning engagement and learning persistence, and indirectly affects self-efficacy through learning engagement. These findings suggest the importance of enhancing presence and engagement in online learning communities to promote continuous learning and confidence among L2 learners in EFL environments.
