Summary

This study investigated the perceptions and needs of parents of high school students with developmental disabilities (DD) regarding postsecondary education (PSE) in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. The results showed that parents preferred vocational programs at vocational training institutions for their children’s PSE and highly recognized the necessity of PSE. They also identified a lack of appropriate institutions and programs as a difficulty in deciding on PSE programs, and preferred operation by the government and local governments, and implementation at community lifelong education institutions and vocational training institutions.
