Summary

This study analyzed the use of Gyeongsang dialect and standard language in a KakaoTalk chatroom of women in their 40s residing in Daegu. The results showed that dialect use is concentrated on the grammatical level, and dialect forms are likely to remain in use as they perform discourse functions and are not replaced by standard forms. This contributes to understanding the current dialect usage patterns and mechanisms of local speakers.
