Summary
This study analyzed the impact of periodontal disease on health-related quality of life in 8,035 adults aged 40 years or older. The risk of quality of life deterioration was 1.32 times higher in the periodontal disease group compared to the healthy periodontal group, particularly among those aged 50 years or older or with two or more comorbidities. These results suggest that periodontal disease can negatively affect quality of life regardless of the presence of chronic diseases.
