Summary

This study analyzed the relationship between young children’s communication patterns and their entry behaviors into a play group during free-play time according to their shyness. The results showed differences in verbal and nonverbal communication based on shyness, with shy children tending to play with the teacher or wander, while less shy children attempted play transitions or were more aggressive. These findings provide basic data for guiding the social communication skills of shy young children.
