Summary

This study aimed to clarify the characteristics displayed in the condolatory poems and exchanged poems of Seongho Yi Ik. Yi Ik, a central figure of the Namin Silhak school, revealed the lives of the deceased through his condolatory poems and explored his life direction and consciousness through exchanged poems reflecting his broad human relationships. Ultimately, the study examines Yi Ik's emotions and poetic aspects as an out-of-office scholar in the late 17th century.
