Summary

This study explores ways to activate the competency evaluation system in the public sector by analyzing problems through comparison with the operation methods of the private sector. While the competency evaluation in the public sector focuses on promotion and selection, it is insufficient in terms of continuous competency development and utilization compared to the private sector. Therefore, improvement of the public sector competency evaluation system is needed to identify talented people, strengthen motivation, and provide accurate feedback to enhance managerial capabilities.
