Summary

This study aims to apply Text-to-Speech (TTS) programs to Korean language education to improve presentation skills of foreign learners and facilitate input/output activities. Learners’ perceptions were examined through a survey after using listening materials produced by the TTS program in intermediate Korean speaking classes. The results confirmed that the use of TTS programs in academic speaking classes provided sufficient input/output opportunities, but further improvement of TTS program performance is needed to produce listening materials closer to natural language.
