Summary

This study explored school dropout risk and protective factors perceived by high school students at risk of dropping out using concept mapping. The analysis revealed that risk factors were related to the controlled environment and sociocultural areas, while protective factors were related to peer relations, school environment, and the older generation and internal areas. Specifically, ‘conflict with teachers’ was the most important risk factor, and ‘support from parents and teachers’ was the most important protective factor.
