Evolution of slip susceptibility of Quaternary faults in southeastern Korea from Quaternary to present day

Author

Journal Title

Summary

This study analyzes the geomechanical stability of Quaternary active faults in southeastern Korea to investigate their present-day activity. By estimating stress states based on Quaternary fault data and current earthquake mechanisms, and using slip tendency and fault instability indices, the slip susceptibility of the faults was evaluated. The results show an increase in slip susceptibility for most Yangsan Faults and some Ulsan Faults.
