Summary

This study experimentally verified the effect of conscientiousness and ego depletion on self-control failure and cheating among university students. The results showed that conscientiousness did not affect cheating in non-depleted conditions, but cheating increased more in the high conscientiousness group under ego depletion conditions. This suggests that highly conscientious individuals may be more vulnerable to ego depletion.
