Due to the characteristics of digital content, regulations different from existing liability for defects are required, and the discussion on the objectivity of digital content is becoming important due to digital transformation. Accordingly, the European Union and Germany are responding to changes through the Digital Content Directive and the Directive on the sale of goods, and Germany is preparing to revise the Civil Code. This study confirms the contents of these directives and the revision of the Civil Code, draws implications, and emphasizes the necessity of revising the Civil Code to respond to changing times.
