Summary

This study analyzed the influence of walking exercise on metabolic syndrome and related factors in elderly individuals with a sedentary lifestyle using KNHNES data. The results showed that elderly individuals with a sedentary lifestyle had higher body mass index and waist circumference, as well as a higher prevalence of metabolic syndrome, compared to those with normal activity levels. Increased walking exercise was found to have a positive effect on preventing metabolic syndrome.
