Summary

This study analyzed the noticing processes of teachers and pre-service teachers in mathematics classes teaching new knowledge. The results showed that both teachers and pre-service teachers noticed pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) more than subject matter knowledge (SMK), and their attention to different aspects of PCK (noticing, deciding, interpreting) varied depending on the class format.
