Summary

This study analyzed the understanding of quadrilateral concept definitions and the formation of concept images among middle and high school students, revealing that understanding does not necessarily improve with grade level, particularly for the rhombus. Gender differences were observed only in the understanding of the square concept definition, and students who did not understand the concept definition were more influenced by concept images.
