Summary

This study analyzes the image of Specialized High Schools perceived by middle school students in Busan to provide academic support for student selection and future policy design in an era of declining school-age population. The results indicate that male students have a stronger negative image of Specialized High Schools than female students, and there is a significant gap between positive and negative images depending on the desired type of high school. Notably, students with a higher understanding of Specialized High School policies tend to have a more positive image, with 'unbelievable-reliable' being a crucial factor influencing their perception.
