Summary

This study investigated the adaptation types of college freshmen to university life during the COVID-19 pandemic using Q-methodology. The analysis revealed three types of freshmen based on their acceptance of online learning and academic achievement (maladaptive type, face-to-face preferred adaptive type, and adaptive type). The findings suggest practical strategies for establishing a learner-centered learning environment to facilitate successful college adaptation, improve academic performance, and enhance employment competencies for freshmen.
