Summary

This study investigated the effect of gait velocity on the muscle activation of the lower limbs and the correlation between each muscle. Muscle activation of the gastrocnemius medialis, gastrocnemius lateralis, soleus, and tibialis anterior was measured in adult female college students at various speeds (0, 2, 3.5, 6 km/h). The results showed that muscle activation of the lower limbs increased with gait velocity, and the correlation between muscles varied depending on the speed condition.
