This study analyzed 151 domestic academic papers on art therapy based on counseling theory published from 2011 to 2021 to identify research trends. The results showed that the most research was conducted in 2015, primarily based on cognitive behavioral theory, and focused on group art therapy using a psychoanalytic approach with adults. Art activities and techniques were found to be characteristically utilized according to counseling theory and treatment goals.
