Summary

This study investigated the experiences, perceptions, and needs of special educators regarding transition planning for students with intellectual disabilities across different school levels. The results indicated that ITPs are operated in various forms, but challenges exist such as the absence of ITP documentation systems, teacher burden, and differences in perceptions across school levels, with needs for ITP role definition, manual development, career outcome-oriented goal setting, system establishment, teacher and family empowerment, and life cycle consideration.
