Summary

This study explored the attitudes of outgroup observers toward applicants with a history of unethical pro-organizational behavior (UPB) and investigated the moderating effects of collectivism and consideration of future consequences on reactions to UPB. The results of the experiment showed that hiring intentions were lower for applicants with UPB-related episodes, and the impact of collectivism on hiring intentions varied depending on the level of consideration of future consequences.
