The findings reveal that Afghan refugees were portrayed as ‘special contributors,’ while Yemeni refugees were depicted as economic migrants or refugees fleeing a humanitarian crisis, with differences in emphasizing positive/negative aspects of refugee reception depending on media partisanship. This suggests that political context and media ideology influence the representation of refugees.
