Summary

This study explores methods to enhance the value of literature in second-grade Korean language arts instruction while achieving language function area learning objectives. The story train activity and literature discussion helped students achieve learning objectives and share their thoughts about the literary work. The study suggests ways for teachers to utilize textbook literature beyond simply using it as material for language function area benchmarks.
