Summary

This study explored the reasons why Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is difficult to implement in general elementary schools in Korea. The results showed that teachers experienced rapid improvements in student behavior through PBS, but misconceptions about PBS (applicable only to students with disabilities, behavior manipulation) hindered its widespread adoption. The study suggests that addressing these misconceptions and recognizing PBS as a preventative approach is crucial for the expansion of universal support for PBS.
