Summary

This study proposes shape scanning displays to overcome the challenges in implementing three-dimensional (3D) displays that meet commercial demands such as resolution, depth of field, and field of view. The display provides a large depth of field (10cm), sufficient eye-box (7.5mm), and moderate field of view (30 degrees), and offers quasi-continuous focus cues and motion parallax by reconstructing 120 tomographic layers.
