Summary

This study aimed to validate the Social Media Emotional Contagion Scale(SECS) among young adults, confirming its two-factor structure through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The criterion-related validity of SECS was verified using the Korean version of the Emotional Contagion Scale(K-ECS), the Basic Empathy Scale in Adult(BES-A), and the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale(SES), demonstrating its reliability. The results suggest a distinction between emotional contagion in offline and social media contexts, and provide benchmarks for future research.
